Manicure Monday (Nailed It) #2 – Spring Colors ♡ CIAN

Hello, beautiful people! It’s been a while since my last Manicure Monday, so I thought I’d do another since I got a lot of positive feedback on my last one. This particular Mani Monday is going to be about my favorite Spring Colors. If you would like me to do a specific Mani Monday on any of these colors, please feel free to leave me a comment.

I love a nice pink during the spring and this is the perfect one. It’s not too bright but also popping and very out there. This one is called Shock Wave.

Pastel blue is probably my favorite nail color to wear in the springtime because it looks so dainty, innocent, and elegant at the same time. This color also looks really pretty with any nail color. This one is called Dreamer.

I’ve had this color for such a long– as you can probably tell by its appearance–but it’s such a nice metallic color. It looks purple, but at the same time it looks silver, which I love. This is such a good quality polish and will stay on for a long time. This color is Pedal to the Metal.

Another one of my favorite metallic colors is gold. I love gold anything, it’s one of my favorite colors. Since I nornaly wear gold rings, this color coordinates with it so well and also adds a nice touch when I wear an all black outfit for example. This color is called Game of Chromes

This is also one of my older nail polishes. I deeply apologize for its horrendous appearance. This is basically the result of me digging out an old polish that I forgot I loved. I would WikiHow how to open the bottle and end up using my teeth… whoops! This is a really nice, clean looking pastel color. You probably won’t be able to find this exact color anymore, but it is called Gargantuan Green GrapeKONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAKONICA MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

This a super pretty dainty pink color and the newest one I got. I have never tried an Essie nail polish for some reason, but I love this one. Another great pastel colored nail polish for the spring.

I love to wear pastels and metallic colors mainly during the springtime with both clothes and nail colors. My favorites have to be Essie’s Mademoiselle, Revlon’s Dreamer, and Sally Hansen’s Shock Wave.

What are your favorite nail colors to wear during the Springtime?

Skin Care Routine ♡ Chanel in a Nutshell

Skin Care Routine Title Collage

Hello, beautiful people! I hope you’re doing dandy! It’s currently Sunday evening and I just found out that I don’t have school tomorrow, so I’m doing just peachy. Huh, who would have thought that school would be cancelled the first day of finals week.

I have to admit, I’m down with that. Well anyway, I had pre-planned this post and took/edited pictures like a week ago and never posted it, so I decided that what’s better to do at 7:10 PM on a Sunday than snacking on cheese balls and writing a blog post that you oh-so-amazingly planned out after studying for two and a half hours.

So today’s post is going to be a skin care routine. My skin has looked a lot better the past few weeks that I have been using these new products. I wish I had thought to take before and after pictures, but I already explained to you how amazingly I planned the content of this post out. Little secret: This post was actually quite spontaneous. Of course, I make sure each and every one of my posts are not lazy, but the idea just kind of popped into my head, and it is usable, so here you are reading this post right now. I hope you enjoy it!

I have combination skin, so this routine could work for you if you do as well. If your skin is like mine, you break out or you get a few new pimples before or during that time of the month. All of these products have helped to keep my skin under control during that time and have reduced breakouts. If you relate to my skin background then I strongly recommend you go to your local drug store, pick up these products, and try them out.

You might be thinking “Two cleansers? Why would you use two cleansers? Hold up a sec, Neutrogena vs. Clean & Clear?” Yes, I do use two cleansers and yes they are two opposing brands. I heard about Clean and Clear from a friend and decided to try it and it worked insanely well; I loved it! But once, I went on vacation and I ran out of cleanser while we were there, so my mom just let me use hers, which was the Neutrogena one. Then is when I found out that the Neutrogena cleanser works really well and I really like it.

In the morning, I use Clean and Clear Morning BurstIn the evening time, I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. The Clean and Clear cleanser has bursting balls with citrus-y scents that never fail to wake me up. It’s a gentle cleanser, but it also has a very bright and vibrant feel, are you picking up what I’m putting down? I know this brand is super hyped but trust me, love, it’s worth the purchase.

In the evening, I use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. The first thing that I’d like to address about this cleanser is that it is quite rough. If you couldn’t tell from the photo that I have provided for you, this cleanser is very, very gritty. I found that using this in the morning and at night (and sometimes in between because of sports) dried out my skin. I had super dry, leathery skin after using this for a while. It does work, but personally for me it dries my skin out after a while.

You wouldn’t believe how many toners that I have tried. I have just finally found something that works for me and that is the CVS Pore Perfecting Toner: 100% Witch Hazel. I used to use all of these different products with salicylic acid and all of these chemicals that are supposedly good for your skin but they weren’t. They didn’t necessarily dry my skin out or make it super oily. I noticed no effect what so ever, if anything, I only broke out.

After doing a little research, I found that witch hazel is super gentle, has no chemicals, is natural, and will do wonders for your skin. After about a week, I was already seeing results. Deciding to pick up the cheap, CVS-brand witch hazel was one of the best decisions that I’ve ever made for my skin. Witch hazel is actually significantly cheaper than toner. I used to pay almost ten dollars for a Clean & Clear Toner, and this one is only five dollars. Plus, it’s a bigger bottle!

It decided to include the cotton pads I used as well because I have actually used some really crappy ones that just rip really easily. These ones are great for applying the toner as well as doing other things like removing nail polish or makeup.

Moisturize (1)

Step three of my skin care routine includes the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Control Moisturizer.  This moisturizer is truly outstanding. First off, it smells amazing. I’m not quite sure how to describe the scent of this product, but let me tell you, it is just divine. This moisturizer definitely helps to keep my skin moisturized at all times.

Have you ever tried a moisturizer or even a toner that you put on your face and it has sort of a minty, burning kind of feel? Yeah, no, not with this one. This moisturizer is super gentle on my skin and it feels so amazing and refreshing to put on. Did I mention that it’s also oil-free? This means that the moisturizer also won’t make your skin all oily and shiny.

The next product in my skin care routine is the Clean & Clear Advantage Acne Spot Treatment.  This product, which is my favorite does absolute wonders. The statistic on the bottom is 100% true. Within one day, some of my acne had decreased in size and redness! If you are going to buy anything from this post please pick this one up, it’s definitely worth the price.

I hope you found this post helpful! If you have a similar skin type to mine, this might help you out! I 100% recommend each of these products, and if you buy any please let me know if they worked for you! I love knowing that I helped at least one person. Make sure to give this post a like and leave a comment about what you thought.

Manicure Monday #1

(Click on the purple, bold, italic phrases for links to the item/site)

Hello loves! Today I’m starting a new series on my blog called Manicure Monday. I will be doing a mini review on the nail polish of choice, and just my thoughts on it, along with a photo of me wearing the nail polish.

I recently got this nail polish from my local CVS and I love it! This is a nice white gel nail polish and I’m in love. It’s called Sure Thing by Revlon. I talked about the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polishes in my June Favorites 2015 post, and I love them, but I also really like the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy nail polishes as well. I’m definitely doing a comparison post between the two.

The white color contrasts beautifully with my skin tone, and I’m actually in love. I will definitely be wearing this color a lot. I think that I might wear this color for the first week of school too, since I’m certain that it will go with anything I wear.

After the Color + Base is applied and dried (that rhymed), I put this top coat over it. This is the Revlon Colorstay Diamond Top Coat. The name of this top coat certainly does it justice because, it’s gorgeous. Sometimes when I don’t feel like putting on a colored nail polish, I just pop on this top coat, and it’s suuuuper shiny. I definitely see why they call it a Diamond Top Coat. I heart this top coat. It protects your gel very well and prevents it from chipping.

I hope you liked this post! I will be doing many more Manicure Monday posts, but definitely not every Monday. I really recommend you trying a gel nail polish, because in my opinion they look a lot better and smoother that regular nail polish, even though the price doesn’t look better.

June Favorites 2015 ♡ Chanel in a Nutshell

Good morning/afternoon/evening! Today I’m going to be sharing with you all of my favorite things for the month of June. This is my first monthly favorites post. I’m not sure if I’m going to be doing these kinds of posts every month.

F A S H I O N

This is a Ci Sono Cropped denim-vested hoodie. I’m in love with this hoodie! When it gets chilly I like to wear this jacket and it keeps me warm without feeling like I’m being grilled. I also like to wear this jacket when a restaurant or a movie theater is cold. I got this jacket from TJ Maxx, but I found it on eBay!

I’ve been wearing these shoes everywhere throughout the month. They are from the brand MIA and they are the Gabi Gladiator Sandals. They are super chic and very comfortable. I could walk around in these shoes for day and still be comfortable. I’ve had these for about a year now, and they are still in amazing condition. I bought these at Nordstrom Rack.

These are two bracelets that I’ve been loving! The black one is a BCBGeneration bracelet. This is so so cute and the little charms on it can be rearranged. It’s very versatile and super cute! This style is called “Girly” but I only found the “Foodie” one, sorry!

I’ve been loving the Philosophy lip gloss in the flavor “Sugar Sprinkles.” I’ve always loved lip gloss, and this month I’ve been wearing this one a lot. It’s not very glittery which I like and stays on for a long time. I got mine at Nordstrom. I’ve also been loving the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. The one in the picture above is my second one. I tried it a few months ago and loved it. It keeps your face very moisturized throughout the day, and my skin has been getting better from using this and a few other products. I can do a skin care routine if you would like. :)

These are two products that I’ve been using daily. The first product is Calvin Klein Eau de Parfum. I love this scent! I think it’s kind of musky and sweet at the same time. The only thing about this is that it is a pretty strong scent so you should only spray a little bit so it’s not overwhelming. The next product is the Sure Women Crystal Clear Deodorant in the scent Pure. This deodorant lasts for so long, so your underarms will be fresh-smelling all day. I like aerosol deodorants better than sticks or roll on deodorants because most that say “Anit-White Mark” are telling a lie. This works so well and I’m definitely going to be using this for a while.

My next favorite are these two Sally Hanson nail polishes. The one on the left is a gel nail polish and the one on the right is a regular nail polish. One of my favorite colors is Pink, and I love pink nails. In the month of June I’ve been switching between these two colors the most. They’re so pretty and go on very smoothly. The gel nail polish only requires one coat which I love, but the one on the right requires at least two coats if you want the color to be solid. I don’t mind that as much though. The gel nail polish is in the shade “Shock Wave,” and the regular one is in the shade “Water Color.” The gel nail polish was kind of pricey, but it’s worth it!

My favorite two hand sanitizers in the month of June were Bath & Body Works’ Stress Relief and Island Margarita. I’m so so so sorry but these aren’t available at Bath and Body Works anymore, but you can find a link for the scent section below. Anyway, I always have hand santizers with me wherever I go, because I like to stay clean. I am not a germaphobe, but I do get bothered when my hands aren’t clean. These are both amazing scents!

Those are all of my favorites for the month of June 2015! I hope you liked this post and was able to find some products that you might want to try!
