Tea Time #8

Hello, everyone and Happy Monday! Last week was pretty messy. I really like doing these little update posts every other week, rather than every week. I am really only able to post once a week, and I know you all want to see things other than what’s going on in my life. So, I woke up on Monday morning feeling disgustingThat Sunday I woke up feeling a little congested and started taking some cold-symptom medicine, but, oh mama, it did NOT help at all. My throat hurt so bad and my nose was very congested. I got ready in twenty minutes, pulled a no-makeup Monday, and went on with my day. Before heading to school I took a couple Airbornes, a vitamin c, and took some Dayquil. As the day progressed, I felt a little better, because I was more awake, but I still felt pretty sick. Tuesday was about the same, but I did feel a little worse. I lost my voice a little bit and I was so, so tiredI went home and took a nap from 3 to 6:30. Wednesday was the absolute worst day of the week, I completely lost my voice, my throat felt so swollen and irritated, my nose was blocked and runny, I had a terrible cough, I had a 99.9 degree fever, and it was just a gross day.

I went on a field trip two fridays ago and another one last tuesday. I also had this orchestra assessment two thursdays ago, but I only missed Spanish class for that. Missing three days of Spanish class is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I literally missed two quizzes, a project, and five sets of notes. I am making up the last quiz tomorrow, but I am so stressed about that. When I lost my voice on Wednesday, my teacher didn’t care and had called in me at least three times to speak Spanish. I could barely talk and was wondering if her calling on me all those times was some sort of sick joke. I also had a Spanish test on Monday and Tuesday. (We’ve discussed this, but in case you don’t know my teacher does, speaking, reading, and writing tests, and spreads it out over two days). There were topics I had to learn myself, and it was not a good time at all, I learn best in class, with the teacher teaching it to me. It’s Sunday as I’m typing this and I still haven’t completely mastered everything that I needed to for the test tomorrow and Tuesday, pray for me. The only other classes I missed were gym and chem II, and I only had to make up a quiz in chem, so that was chill.

I started feeling better on Friday, and my voice only completely came back today (Sunday). I still have a little bit of a cough and a blocked, runny nose, but my throat doesn’t hurt anymore, and my voice is back. I was super consistent on working out two weeks ago, but ever since Sunday when I started feeling so sick, I haven’t exercised once, unless you count gym class. This week, I’m super determined and motivated so start working out again since I feel so much better.

The last quarter of the school year starts on Wednesday, and I am so ready for a fresh start. I love change, and clean slates, so I am just so excited. I’m so ready to bounce back this week too, since I was feeling so bad all of last week. I wore makeup once that wee, in attempt to feel a little better, but it didn’t really work. Not that I feel that I need makeup or anything, I just feel a little more put together, you know? I’m so ready to be productive and feel a lot better, and work out consistently, and everything. It’s going to be a beautiful week full of new beginnings, light, and love.

Last week we took an L, but this week we bounce back, just as Big Sean said (he said last night and tonight, but you’re picking up what I’m putting down). I hope you enjoyed this post, and you have an amazing rest of your day/week! Tea Time #7 || Chanel in a Nutshell

Hello, everyone and happy Wednesday! I haven’t done a tea time post in a while so I decided to write one today and update you on what is going on in my life. This was supposed to go up on Sunday but I didn’t finish telling you all everything that I wanted to. So, in my last Tea Time post, I told you all about my new classes for this semester when I just started them. I’ll give you a little update on how I’m feeling about each of my new classes, on life and how i’m feeling in general, and just some random things that I want to tell you about. I hope you enjoy!

I’ll start of with Spanish II. I still feel pretty much the same about Spanish class. I’m still surrounded by freshman and the class is still suuuuuuuper boring. My teacher is kind and does a good job with teaching and all, but I don’t feel all that connected with her I’ve never had a problem with her or even gotten yelled at or anything, I just don’t mesh with her or feel comfortable enough to have deep, passionate conversation with her. I get along with all of my teachers really, really well. My English teacher from last semester, so far is my absolute favorite teacher that I’ve had in high school. I know this is only my second year of high school, but I absolutely loved him. In that class we read and wrote a lot of great things and we talked about deep topics and issues and had really important, passionate conversations in that class.That is definitely the class that I miss the most. Anyway, that class also moves pretty quickly for a class that is supposed to be regularly paced. Two foreign language classes are required and you do not have the option to do honors for levels one and two in my school. I can keep up and I have an A in the class and all, I just feel it’s a little too fast paced for a regular class. But, I’ve been trying to tell myself that I love Spanish class so that I don’t dread going to it every single day for the rest of this school year and so that I am more excited and happy when i’m in that class.

I never thought that I would say this, but I actually love gym class. We finished our badminton and volleyball units already and we are doing archery right now. I am not very good at archery naturally, but I think it’s fun and that the more that I do it in class the better I will get. I don’t really know where my skill level is, it’;s pretty inconsistent. Sometimes I’ll shoot in the middle, sometimes i’ll shoot at the outside lines. Hmmmm. We also go to the local bowling alley every other Thursday, which is amazing. I love bowling and the food that they have at our bowling alley is bombTheir curly fries are my favorite thing.  I don’t really have much to say about gym class other than that. Complete opposite about that argumentative essay that I wrote about Spanish class, lmao.

Chem II has gotten sooooo much better. The class has definitely picked up speed and it’s getting harder. When I wrote my last Tea Time, we were in our safety and review (from chem I) unit, so it was pretty easy and going by at a constant, steady speed. Not too much work, but not too little at the same time. Now we are onto unit two and it definitely was a faster pace than the first unit. I had my unit test for Unit 1 on February 28th and we are taking our unit test for Unit 2 this Friday. Wiiiild, right?!

So, that’s pretty much the update on school. Tuesday was a snow day and I stayed home and finished writing this post and caught up on schoolwork. I was supposed to have an orchestra concert that day, but we got snowed in, so I’m not sure when that’s supposed to be rescheduled. I’ve recently been really obsessed with Kim Thai on YouTube. I’ve recently subscribed to her, and I love her! She uploads weekly vlogs and they’re so long and so so amazing. Kim is such a kind soul and a sweetheart and I’ve been binge-watching her so much lately. I really recommend you all check out her channel. I also have been obsessed with Rae Sremmurd. If you haven’t listened to their music before, get your butt onto you Spotify account (or whatever music service you use) and listen to their latest album SremmLife 2. It’s so so so lit (I know, I know. The word lit” is so cringey) and it’s almost all I’ve been listening to.

I really want to do a favorites or things I’ve been loving post because there are a few things I want to tell you all about that I’ve been loving for a while, not even just this month. I’m having a two-hour delay Wednesday morning (when you all are reading this), so I think i’m going to make myself a nice breakfast. I wake up at a good time but I never have enough time to have a quality breakfast. I usually eat a cinnamon-raisin bagel and then take my green tea (with almond milk and some honey) in a travel mug to-go with me. I really want to make some waffles, so hopefully I have enough time to do that.

30 Ways to Improve Yourself

Hello, everyone and happy Sunday. Notice anything different? I change my hairstyle yet again! What do you think? I wasn’t too sure about it at first because of how voluminous and curly it is, but after the first day I grew to love it! Anyway, today’s post is going to be 30 ways that you can improve yourself, make your life better, and be happier. Let’s begin!

(1Track/Have a goal for how much water you drink each day (at least 8 cups).

(2Never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach.

(3Wash your hands every time you get home from somewhere.

(4Don’t skip breakfast.

6 Ways to Unwind After a Long Day

Hello, my beautiful friends. Today I wanted to share with you six things that I like to do to unwind after a long day. We all can get overwhelmed at times and can write one too many things on our to-do list. I am a sophomore in high school. I’m trying to keep up with all of my schoolwork, maintain a certain GPA, stay caught up with my friends, have somewhat of a social life, do chores at home, etc. It’s important to realize that you deserve to relax and unwind and you deserve to take time to yourself. We live in a world where everything is go go go! and we may not realize that it’s okay to take a break and it’s okay to slow down. Doing at least one or two of these things a day is important for your mental health and to keep you sane.

(1) Take a hot shower or bath. I personally enjoy taking showers. I go to school five out of seven days a week and am constantly surrounded by people and their energies. Unfortunately, not everyone has the best energy and I like to pretend that the water from the shower is cleansing all of the negativity and energy of other people off of me. I find this really relaxing and can just make you feel a little better knowing that all of the negative energy is off of you. Plus, you’re fresh and clean and are making sure your hygiene is in check.

(2) Listen to some calm music. When I say calm music, I don’t mean search for a Spotify playlist of monks chanting. If that’s what you find relaxing, go for it! I really like to listen to Lana Del Rey when I want to relax. I have a pretty broad music taste and am open to anything that is not country or heavy metal, but most of the time you will find me listening to rap music, edm/remix-y type music, or Broods. When I want to relax, I love Lana. If you listen to really intense, hype music then it may be nice for you to listen to something a little calmer. I also really like classical music. I play the violin, so maybe that’s why but I really like to listen to it when i’m trying to relax or read. It’s all about personal preference, so listen to music that you find relaxing, whether that me Lana Del Rey, classical music, monks chanting, or anything else.

(3) Make some chamomile tea. I freaking love chamomile tea. My favorite kind is the Tazo Calm Chamomile Tea. Chamomile tea is one of the best kinds of teas to have when you can’t sleep. I drink it quite often, it’s one of my favorite ways to relax. It’s good for you, it tastes good all by itself, and it helps you to relax and fall asleep. (4) Read a book. This is also one of my favorite ways to relax. I love making myself some chamomile tea and reading a books. I read literally almost every single night. It’s so, so, so relaxing to me. Especially when you have a nice, warm cup of chamomile tea, and minimal lights on. This is so much better than doing your nightly scroll through Instagram and Twitter. It eases your mind and allows you to sleep better. I can link below some books that I like or that i’m currently reading.

(5) Do some yoga/meditation. I really like to meditate as often as possible. There are countless amounts of benefits to yoga and meditation. I personally prefer meditation. Most nights before going to bed, I like to do some guided meditation off of YouTube to make me feel a little more relaxed and centered. You can do guided meditation especially when you don’t know what to say to yourself while meditating. I also like to do sleep hypnosis to help me fall asleep. I find this extremely relaxing and it helps me to fall asleep so much. I will link all of my favorite guided meditations and sleep hypnosis videos.

Tea Time #6

Hello world and happy Sunday. I do not want to start off this post with excuses. The only reason you all haven’t seen fashion posts as frequently as before is that my camera is broken. If you have seen my post called “A Little Update,’ you would already know about this. I have tried doing some posts on my iPhone, but never liked the way they turned out, so I didn’t post them. The post called “White Ruffle Bodycon” was taken on my iPhone and I actually really liked how the pictures turned out so I used them. I believe in quality over quantity, so I will never post anything half-baked for you all. If I ever have good enough quality for an outfit post, you already know it’ll be up on my blog. I just decided today to let you know about what’s been going on with me.

So my second semester of school started on Monday the 31st. Two of my classes, Honors Government and Honors Orchestra remain the same. My first new class was Spanish II. I was a little apprehensive about Spanish II. I was supposed to have the teacher I had for Spanish I, but her and the other teacher switched classes. I’m so sad because I LOVED my Spanish I teacher. I am also in Spanish club with that teacher so I was so sad I got switched. The teacher I have now is super nice, but her class is a little harder and painfully boring. It’s okay though, it’s only for a semester and then next year I am reunited with my other teacher.

Every quarter/semester depending on a certain teacher, you change the time you have lunch. I have my group of my three best friends and they all are in C lunch and I am in A lunch. Perfect. But it’s okay, in the last quarter of school, I have C lunch, so I will be with my friends eventually. My next class is gym. Usually I absolutely hate gym class, but I actually love mine! Our three units are volleyball, badminton, and archery. I’m a volleyball player and I love badminton! I’ve never done archery before, but people who have already taken gym class have told me that it’s really fun. We also go bowling four times a quarter, which is so fun. We went on Thursday and it was a really enthralling time, I enjoyed myself a lot. I also have three friends in the class. We’re not super close, but close enough for me not to be alone in class.

My last new class is Honors Chemistry II. The only thing I enjoy about that class is the subject and the teacher. My teacher is so cute and so sweet and super kind. I also really love chemistry. I have absolutely no friends in the class though… My teacher gives us assigned seats, but lets us sit wherever we want to do our busy work and I sit alone. There are two other guys and a girl that usually sit with me and the two guys will eventually join me after like ten minutes and one of their friends will sit in the last seat. Most of the time they talk to me, but we’re not like friendsyou know? Like not even walk to class together in the hallway level or Snapchat streak level or even wave to each other in the hallway. It’s okay, but I’ll make the best out of it. If I didn’t like the class or my teacher, then I would be completely miserable. I also really like my teacher’s teaching style. She puts videos online where we take notes and then in class that is where we do labs and classwork and can actually ask for help. She calls it “flipped classroom.” She also gave us a calendar of the month of all of the lesson plans and homework and quizzes and tests so that we can go at our own pace. I don’t know why but it gives me kind of a college-like vibe and I’m feeling it.

I would have to say that my least favorite class is Spanish. I’m surrounded by freshman, it’s soooooo boring, and harder than it should be. I haven’t had a boring class since the first semester of my freshman year, and that was Foundations of Technology. I’ll be fine, though and stay positive and make the best out of all situations.

So far my assignments for chemistry are to finish a lab report for a lab we did on Friday and finish some worksheets. For Spanish I have to define some verbs and prepare for a project she assigned. Yes, my teacher is already assigning a project. Unbelievable. Right now it’s Sunday afternoon and I am finishing up this post so I can get it up, but afterwards I’m going to plan out my week so that I am aware of everything that is going on. Next, I’m going to do all of my work.

Well, that’s basically what has happened last week and a little bit of what I’m doing today. I personally really like to read about what other people’s experiences in school are like and about their assignments and classes and such. I’m not sure why I just find it interesting. A Little Update

Hello, everyone! I know I promised you all holiday posts. I’m very sorry that I have failed to get those up for you. My camera broke, so I am not able to take any pictures and the past two weeks have been absolute hell when it comes to school.
